Using eBillme and ebates to Save Cash (Make Money Online – Day 5)

Living the Rich Life, you have to save money on everything.  Literally – everything.  The best way to save money is to buy things online.  If you can’t get them on sale online, you need to have other tools ready to use, so you can make Extreme Couponers look like idiots.  Let’s take a look at how to do this.

eBillme

Save Money With eBillme!

This is one of my favorite services of all time.  Seriously.  The way eBillme works is pretty simple.  Here’s the low-down.

  1. Place an order at a merchant who accepts eBillme
  2. Once you check out, agree to pay your bill with eBillme
  3. Pay eBillme through your bank’s BillPay program
  4. Get cash back from your purchase!
  5. Redeem for an eBillme coupon when your account reaches $10
  6. Redeem for a check when your account reaches $50

It’s that easy!  All you have to do is checkout with eBillme, and you’ll save lots of cash on everything you buy online.  There are a few caveats to remember, though.

No Cash Back from Amazon Purchases

Yeah, that does really suck.  I love Amazon.  I shop there for almost everything.  However, they are not an eBillme merchant, so you can’t save money checking out with eBillme.  The good news is, you can buy Amazon gift cards through eBillme’s website.  Problem solved!

Double Cash Back on Tuesdays and Thursdays

One of the best things about eBillme is that they offer double cash back on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  It’s really that simple.  If you want to buy something, just wait until Tuesday or Thursday, pay with eBillme, and you’ll get 20% back, rather than just 10%.

The only negative thing about eBillme

My only druther with regard to eBillme is that I cannot earn airline miles or hotel points with purchases.  Because I have to pay through my bank’s bill-pay system, I can’t swipe a card to get points (and then immediately pay off).  That’s just a personal quibble, but I’ll live.

ebates

Save Cash with ebates!

ebates is freaking awesome.  It’s even easier to use than eBillme, because it does all the work for you.  Here’s how simple ebates is to use:

  1. Sign up at ebates
  2. Log in with your new account info
  3. Search for the store where you want to shop (on the ebates website)
  4. Click the “Shop Now” button, or just click on the store’s name
  5. Order whatever you want
  6. Watch your cash back build up!

Simple, yeah?  It might not seem like a lot at first, but after a while, you’ll realize that the savings really add up.  I’ve bought little things here and there, and take a look at my cash back so far:

Save Cash with ebates!
Look at that!  Over $30 total cash back from random purchases on the web.  I can do a lot with $30.  If you’re buying coffee for $1.50 a cup, that’s 20 cups of coffee, for FREE.  All you have to do is use ebates.  I love it.

Make it Happen

It’s all up to you now.  Go out and sign up for eBillme and ebates, and start saving tons of cash online!

For the next Make Money Online session, I’ll be sharing how to use these techniques creatively to make even more supplemental income online.

Do you think the 2x Tuesdays and Thursdays promotion will go on indefinitely?  How about the 10% cashback at various retailers?  I’m seriously reaping some awesome benefits on my HTPC through eBillMe + eBates (+ recently FatWallet cashback), but I’m hesistant at whether I should buy all my components now to get in on the deal or if I can leave some of the less crucial components for later.  I don’t want this to expire.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t keep going on… It’s been going on for a while now, and I think eBillme is financially strong enough to continue for a good long while.

Hmmm… I don’t know about if you should go all out now or not, but what I do know is that I’ve seen a TON of deals on PC components lately. Like, WHOA, a lot of deals. So there’s a good chance the deals will keep popping up. But if you want to combine those deals with three different forms of cash back (and be guaranteed of such), I so go all out now!
